Thanks for sticking in there with us as we grow, change, update, and develop the company! Fort Wayne Party is a collaboration of the area’s best DJs. We are constantly adding new DJ’s to our lineup as most of our DJs are so good they end up getting booked at top nightclubs around the midwest and beyond and we are always on the lookout for the best of the best. The one thing that separates our Djs from the rest is years of experience working crowds in major venues, weddings, parties and more. Our DJ’s are “REALLY DJS” and not someone who just picked up a laptop and put together a playlist for your event or wedding. We all have experience in creating mixes, production, formulating proper bpm, mixing, and the right timing for each song. Its something you don’t really think about unless you’re at the event and you hear dead air, or a song that just doesn’t quite work with the previous, or song after song of bad choices. We take a lot of time to learn what crowds like so when you pay us for your event we can rock the crowd and deliver a time tested and incredible live performance like nothing you have ever seen.

Our DJ’s routinely provide amazing club rocking music at over 100+ events every year. We are frequently booked to open at national events, large nightclubs, anniversary parties, small and large weddings, and everything in between. We can even throw in some California Mashups & electro if that suits your event. Cake Cutting

We get lots of questions about cake cutting, and rather than wait until its time for to actually cut the cake we thought we would throw a quick post on the tradition.

Cutting The Cake

The cutting of the cake is a tradition that occurs during the reception. The bride and groom cut the cake together and the groom feeds a piece to the bride and then the bride feeds the groom. After this little ceremony, the guests are served.

When Do We Cut The Cake?

This is a great question and one of the questions we cover during our initial planning meeting. We traditionally due the cake cutting right after dinner, but we have had just as many receptions where we cut the cake prior to dinner including immediately upon arrival due to the location of the cake (on the dance floor)

How Do We Cut The Cake?

The groom should place his right hand over the bride’s right hand, and together you cut into the bottom layer.

How Do We Feed Each Other?

Please don’t smash the cake into each other’s faces. Instead, the groom should feed the bride her first bite and the bride should feed him. This taste of the first slice serves as a symbol of the bride and groom’s willingness to share a household.

Who Gets Cake Next?

After the bride and groom have completed their cake cutting ceremony. The bride should cut pieces for her parents and serve them. The groom should follow by cutting pieces for his parents and then serving them. The rest of the cake is cut by the catering staff or friend designated in advance and served to all of the wedding guests. The superstitious believe that it is bad luck for a guest to leave the reception without tasting the cake.

The long awaited update to Fort Wayne Party online is nearly finished. We have a few more tweaks and such to do over the next few weeks but as you can see we have brought the site up to date to the type of cutting edge, trendy, and exciting entertainment company we are and are ready to tackle all the exciting new events and entertainment you have in mind! Fort Wayne Party is now bigger than ever with our new partnership with the FUSION DJS who have an amazing assortment of DJ Gear and many years experience running nightclubs, venues, performing at major events, and planning and customizing every detail of a wedding. Fort Wayne Party is the combination of the best entertainers in Fort Wayne. The team now consists of Jay (DJ ENLIGHTENMENT), Scott (DJ TREND), Ryan (DJ DOUGHD), Gabe (DJ SPIN), Jeff (DJ MIND ONE), Gavin (DJ SPOT), & Rod (DJ EPITAPH) have a combined 100 years of experience in rocking crowds, and the great thing about that is, we aren’t 100 years old. KRISTEN AND MATT | HISTORIC EMBASSY THEATER

One last wedding before the New Year! Kristen and Matt held their wedding and reception at Fort Wayne’s Historic Embassy Theater. Music by DJ Trend of Fort Wayne Party, and the beautiful cake was created by Hall’s Takes The Cake. They did an amazing job on the reception photography and and it turned out to be a great event to end the year!

*By the way the wedding took place on a Wednesday as did the reception which is a huge money saving tip if you want to utilize the best locations on a smaller budget!
